Congratulations!

Charlie was recognized for being the "Character Kid of the Month" in October. Charlie shows great self-control in all situations. Thank you for being such an awesome member of our community!

WOW!

These percentages are the class averages on the last 4 spelling tests. Look at last weeks average! Students are showing so much GROWTH! Our spelling skills have improved so much in just 2 quarters! Awesome job, class!

Welcome to the wall!

Brielle and Yoselin have both completed 10 book reports! Way to go, girls!
Who will be the first to complete 20 book reports?!?!? Read! Read! Read!

Don't eat us!

These are the turkeys the class disguised to trick Farmer Jake. Each turkey wrote a letter to Farmer Jake describing why he/she is not actually a turkey, and to convince him to find something else to eat for his Thanksgiving feast. Don't they look great?

Math! Math! Math!

We have spent a lot of time these last few weeks learning how to divide, how to process word problems, and reviewing the order of operations. On Thursday, we put all of our hard work together to solve a word problem efficiently and effectively. Students worked independently, then shared their own strategy with their team. Next, teams moved around to other groups to hear strategies from one group member who stayed back to share. After listening to all strategies from each group, teams got back together to discuss the best strategies they observed. Finally, teams decided on the most efficient way to solve the word problem. Teams then presented their solution to the class. Below are some pictures of the class working.

The students who stayed behind to share strategies did an amazing job of presenting the strategies of their team to each group. Team members who moved around the room did a fantastic job of listening and questioning each presenter. The class really worked for a deeper understanding of the best way to solve the problem. I am so proud of this process! Every student participated and gave the task their best effort!

Brrr! Winter is near!

Please be sure your child is ready for the cold weather! We will go outside as much as possible this winter. Students without warm enough clothes will not be allowed outside for recess. We typically have outside recess if it is 32 degrees or warmer. Students will need winter coats, hoods/hats, gloves, and/or scarves to keep them comfortable at recess.

Here's what we've been up to...
