The End Is Near!

3^rd grade is winding down! With only 14 days of school left, we are still hard at work! Students are working furiously to polish their president presentations. We will present for each other throughout the day on Wednesday and then present for all of you during the Academic Showcase on Thursday from 2:30-3:00. We are really looking forward to having you at Pershing and getting to show-off our reading and writing abilities. We have grown A LOT this year!

Please continue to read with your kiddo and talk about his/her reading. Library books are due next week so we want everyone to get their books finished and book reports completed! Thank you for reading with your child! It makes a huge difference in reading growth and it creates more enjoyment during reading time.

As a few of you know, I will not be teaching at Pershing next year. I am heading back to Lindbergh to teach 4^th grade. Lindbergh is where I started my teaching career 12 years ago. I have loved every single minute at Pershing and leaving was a bittersweet decision. We still have 3 weeks together though, so let’s get ready for some end of the year fun together!

Our Class Flags

Students worked in teams to create flags that they feel represent who they are. One group even created a short song!

Letters from home...

Students LOVED receiving the MAP test letters of encouragement from family members! Thank you for taking the time to let your child know you were thinking of them! The notes were very creative and the students were so excited to share your words with their friends! Here are a few pictures of them reading and sharing their letters.
