Poster Method

Poster Method Process
*The class read through the problem together using
reading strategies.
*Students worked independently to complete as
much work as they could within 10 minutes.
*Students wrote 1-2 sentences explaining their
solving process.
*Students shared their work and answers with        his/her team.
*One student stayed at the table with the teams work, while the rest of the team moved around the room listening to other strategies.
o  The team member who stayed with the work was responsible for explaining all strategies to other teams.
o  The team members who moved around the room were responsible for bringing the strategies back to their team to discuss.
*Teams analyzed each strategy for effectiveness and efficiency. These strategies were written on the orange paper.
*Teams then solved using the best strategy. Final
work and solutions were written on the yellow paper.

Remembering September 11th

In class today we learned about the tragic events that occurred on September 11, 2001. Students took home booklets that were read and discussed together in class. Below are short video clips that we watched and discussed, as well.

Reviewing Prior Skills

We have spent some time reviewing skills that were learned in previous grades. Correctly writing sentences is a life-skill and will be an expectation of each student in our class. Please check over graded work and homework to help polish this skill.
